Ashante was born on January 1, 1950, in Mullins, South Carolina, United States, to parents who cherished her from the very moment she entered their lives.

Ashante was a shining light in the lives of those who knew her. Her warm smile, kind heart, and gentle presence touched the lives of many people throughout her lifetime. She believed in the power of connections and valued every relationship she had. Ashante was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
