Auderle Simons Parkerson went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 6, 2016. Auderle was born on September 15, 1937 to Daniel Earl "Skinny" Simons and Audrey Lillie Allen. She grew up and graduated from Nacogdoches ISD in Nacogdoches, Tx. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin with a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Education. She married Larry Parkerson of White Oak in the chapel of First Baptist Church in Nacogdoches in 1958. They then moved to Houston to pursue their teaching careers. She was employed by the Galena Park ISD in Houston, Tx for 30 years. She taught 3rd, 5th, & 6th grades until she retired in 1990. The next 12 years, she and Larry spent on their sailboat cruising the Texas Gulf Coast, on to Florida, the East Coast and the Bahamas. They returned to Houston in 2001, and moved back to Nacogdoches in 2005. Auderle was a member of SMO's (Class of 1955 Ladies), Delta Kappa Gamma, a teacher's organization, and a member of the Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She attended First Baptist Church in Nacogdoches and was a member of the Fireside Sunday School class. She is survived by her daughter, Larrilee and husband David Hill of Nacogdoches, Tx; sister, Nelwyne Green of Pasadena, Tx; brothers-in-law, Hardy Parkerson and wife Janice of Lake Charles, La.; JD Parkerson and wife Pam of Vinita, Ok.; sister-in-law Jan Mutersbaugh and husband Robert of Lake Charles, La.; 5 nephews, 2 nieces and 1 great niece. She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Parkerson; parents, Daniel Earl "Skinny" Simons and Audrey Lillie Allen; and infant twin daughters. Special thanks to 5 amazing ladies who took wonderful care of Mrs. Parkerson: Ruthie Washington, Frances Rusk, Bernitha Agnew, Jennifer Rudisill, Paula Horton, and a VERY special thanks to Alice Puffer. To Hospice of East Texas, a heartfelt thank you for services provided. Pallbearers will be Matthew Green, Skip Puffer, Todd Puffer, Daryl Roberts, Phillip Harvey, and Jamie Stephenson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Nacogdoches, Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, or Hospice of East Texas. Visitation will be Thursday, December 8, 2017 at Laird Funeral Home from 5pm to 7pm. Services will be held Friday, December 9, 2016 at 10am in the Chapel at First Baptist Church, Nacogdoches.
