LAGRANGE — Audrey M. Duncan, 98, of LaGrange died Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at her residence. Mrs. Duncan moved to LaGrange in 1965 from Warsaw. She and her husband, David, owned and operated the LaGrange Cafe for many years. Mrs. Duncan attended the Presbyterian Church. She was born on May 11, 1916, in Dumbleton, Gloucester, England, to Edward and Alice Priscilla (Blanch) Hopkins. On Dec. 18, 1943, in Gloucester, she married David Duncan. He preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 1988. Surviving are four sons and three daughters-in-law, Eric and Nancy A. Duncan of LaGrange, David and Claudia Duncan of Carlsbad, Calif., Alan and Patricia Duncan of Nappanee, and James "Dooley" Duncan of LaGrange; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Thelma Brown of Cheltenham, United Kingdom; and a sister-in-law, Agnes Jane Plumber of Columbia City. Also preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters, and three brothers. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 W. Michigan St., LaGrange, with the Rev. Kenneth Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
