Vircks, AudreyAudrey M. Vircks, 92, a former Township of Little Black resident, passed away on Friday, Feb.3 at Aspirus Care and Rehab, Medford, where she had resided for the past nine years. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 10 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Stetsonville with Rev. Richard Russow officiating. Visitation will take place from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford and also at church from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. on Friday. Internment will take place at Zion Ev. Lutheran Cemetery, Stetsonville. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Rory, Adam, Seth, Zackary and Joel Vircks, Jon Potter, and Casey and Cody Goessl.Audrey was born on Dec. 10, 1924 in the Township of Deer Creek to the late Bertha (Richwalski) and William Brecke. She attended Pleasant Valley Elementary school, Town of Deer Creek and was a graduate of Dorchester High School. She also attended business school in Wausau. On May 5, 1945, in Stetsonville, she married Willard A. Vircks and he preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 1980. For most of her life she worked as a homemaker and housewife while farming in the Township of Little Black from 1945-1978. She also sold Fuller Brush products and worked in the deli at Copps IGA after farming. She enjoyed scrabble, baking, knitting, quilting, crossword puzzles and traveling. She was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Stetsonville, along with it's Mission Circle and Church Choir and Stetsonville American Legion Auxiliary.Audrey is survived by her sons, Warren (Judy) Vircks of Cudahy, Gerry (Marlene) Vircks of Stevens Point, Steve (Nancy) Vircks of Elisworth, Richard (Debbie) Vircks of Stanley and Clayton (Cheryl) Vircks of Wausau; daughters, Jane Potter of Anderson, S.C., Suzanne (Glenn) Goessl of Medford, Phyllis Vircks of Grand Rapids, Minn. and Marilyn (Dan) Shereda of Medford; 19 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; brothers and sisters, Gladys Paur of Medford, Annabelle Holme of New Berlin, Myrtle Bedroske of Colby and Elva (Norman) Larson of Waupaca.In addition to her husband and parents, Audrey is preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Mary Vircks; son-in-law, Robert Potter; brothers and sisters, Vernon Brecke, Myron Brecke, Stella Brecke and Mary Ann Brecke in infancy.The family requests memorial contributions be given to Zion Ev.
