Our family unexpectedly lost our family's matriarch, Aurora Mendoza-Orellana, on February 28th, 2023.
Here we will share our favorite memories and record her biography. We hope that you will add on with your favorite memories as well.
Aurora Mendoza-Orellana, 63, of Irving passed away suddenly on February 28th, 2023 from heart complications/ stroke. This loss was completely unexpected leaving family and friends shocked and deeply saddened.
Aurora was 63 years old. Aurora’s life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were Blessed to be touched by her understand that her existence and the imprint She left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time that She stayed here.
A comfort to many and a joy to all, most of her time was spent taking care of her family, her friends, and her community.
When she passed, she had two children Xitlaly Mendoza and Eli Orellana, eight grandchildren Crystaly, Miguel, Xavier, Frederico, Jesse, Lupe, Mario, and Omar, and many more friends, extended family members, and loving coworkers.
We will remember Abuela for her loving nature, her playfulness, and her occasional, endearing stubbornness. She doted on us, her granddaughters. We couldn’t spend a minute with her without her telling us how much she loved us, how beautiful she thought we were, and how proud she was to be our grandmother. Aurora was talented and adventurous in many aspects of her life. She was a master of sewing, gardening , and cooking, an avid church member and an amazing grandmother.
Not a day went by where Aurora didn't talk about how much her children and family meant to her -- her family was arguably her most important achievement in life.
Aurora “Nana” or “Abuela” Mendoza-Orellana was a beloved grandmother, mother, and wife during her incredible 63 years of life.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Aurora also loved working in her garden, staying actively involved in the PTA, and holding various volunteer roles at High Point Church. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. Now that Aurora has passed into the arms of our Lord, we should remind ourselves that while this is the end of Aurora’s physical life on Earth, it’s the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her.
Later in life, Abuela Aurora enjoyed working, going to beaches, and camping and spent much of her time outdoors. A loving and wonderful woman until the very end, she will be greatly missed.
