It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Azi Getachew, who departed this world on September 5, 2024, in Dallas, Texas.

Azi was born on July 6, 1962, and lived a colorful and adventurous life. Known for her infectious laughter and love for ice cream, she could often be found exploring new places and trying new foods.

Although she had no children of her own, Azi was a beloved friend and mentor to many. She had a knack for bringing joy and light wherever she went, and her positive attitude was contagious.

Whether she was dancing at a local music festival or spending a quiet evening at home with a good book, Azi lived life to the fullest and inspired those around her to do the same.

She will be greatly missed and forever remembered for her warmth, wit, and unwavering spirit. Rest in peace, dear Azi.
