Barbara A. Woodin, 78Muncie - Barbara A. Woodin, 78, a longtime resident of Muncie, but formerly of Pittsfield, Massachusetts passed away on Saturday afternoon, March 18, 2017, at Elmcroft.She was born on March 13, 1939, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, the daughter of Russell F. and Catherine Edith (Featherston) Wise and graduated from St. Joseph Central High School in Pittsfield. On August 6, 1960, she married Francis William Woodin in Pittsfield, MA.Barbara served at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pittsfield as president of the Rosary Sodality, Parish council member, President of Charismatic Renewal and president of the church bingo; she was also the president of Berkshire County Right to Life; here in Muncie, she was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church where she served as Eucharistic Minister.She enjoyed politics, New York Giants Football and New York Yankees baseball, she loved to cook and garden and was an outstanding mother and grandmother.Surviving are two sons, Michael Francis Woodin (wife, Teresa) of Oxford, OH and Robert Francis Woodin (wife, Stacey) of Muncie; two daughters, Deborah van Thiel of Alphen aan den Rijn, Netherlands and Amy Sparling (fiancé, Michael Clark) of Westfield; twelve grandchildren, Alaina van Thiel (fiancé, Graeme Taylor) of London, England, Niekus van Thiel of Amsterdam, Caleb van Thiel of Tilberg, Netherlands, Damon van Thiel of Alphen aan den Rijn, Netherlands, Audrey, Wesley and Riley Woodin, all of Muncie, Sarah and John Sparling of Westfield, Kaylee Clark of Westfield, Connor and Brendan Woodin, both of Oxford, OH; and one sister, Donna Frank (husband, David) of Harwich, MA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis on March 28, 2010; and one brother, Father Russell Wise, of the Society of St. Edmund.Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2017, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1200 W. Riverside with Father Brian Doerr officiating. Burial will be held at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017.Friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1200 W.
