Barbara Ann ParkerSan AngeloBarbara Ann Parker, 75, quietly passed away Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, after a long and brave fight against pancreatic cancer. Barbara was born on Wednesday, April 2, 1941, in Hobbs, New Mexico to Marvin and Pauline Perkins, the middle of their three daughters. Barbara was married to the love of her life, Lawrence Parker on May 30, 1960. They were married for 48 years at the time of his passing (Dec. 1, 2008). Barbara was a member of South Gate Church of Christ. In her last years, she made many friends at Rio Concho Manor as well as at South Gate, cherishing the friendships with all. The family would like to express heartfelt thank you to all who called, prayed and sent cards. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Chris Barnett and Dr. Raj Cheruku and their staff at Shannon Hospital for all the great compassion and care provided. Also a thank you to the nurses at Encompass Health Care. Special thanks to Kindred Hospice, who helped Barbara through her final steps in this life, and Anita Salinas with Visiting Angels for keeping her company and taking such great care of her. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Marline Byrd. Survivors include her son, Terry Parker and his wife, Nicol; grandson, Jeremiah Parker; sister, Dolores Roberts and her husband, Loren; brother-in-law, Jack Byrd; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Sheffield and her husband, Fredrick, Jewel Hammock, and Howard Parker; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. There will be a time of visitation from 5 p.m to 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, at Johnson's Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, in the Fairmount Cemetery, San Angelo.
