Brown, Barbara,died peacefully on June 20, 2017 in Louisville, KY at the age of 79. Barbara was born on February 10, 1938 in Covington, KY to her parents Robert and Martha Butler. She graduated from LaSalette High School and Villa Madonna College and began her high school teaching career at her alma mater. She married Martin Brown in August of 1962 and enjoyed nearly 55 years of marriage.Barbara taught math and coached the volleyball team at LaSalette. While her younger kids were teenagers, she served for years as the St. Edward church youth group leader in Jeffersontown, KY. She worked for many years in the Ministry Formation office for the Archdiocese of Louisville. Barbara was a proud wife, mom and grandma and loved to cook, sew and was an excellent listener to her family members and other friends and family. She is surely breathing easier now that she is in heaven with her brother Bobby.She was preceded in death by her father, Robert; her mother, Martha; her twin brother, Bobby; and her sister, Martha.Barbara is survived by her husband Marty; her daughter Laura (Doug) Wolz; her son Marty V (Amy); her daughter Jeanne (Chris) Cummins; her son Mike (Amy); her son Robert (Megan) and fourteen wonderful grandchildren: Mark (Emily), Luke, Clare, Renee, Marty VI, Bridget, Kevin, Ryan (Brittany), Adam, McKenna, Jake, Gregory, Sylvia, Mary Hollis.A mass of Christian burial will take place at Noon, Monday, June 26 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Jeffersontown, KY. Interment will follow at St. Edward Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 4-8pm June 25 at Ratterman's Funeral Home at 10600 Taylorsville Road and on Monday before mass starting at 10am.
