MOORESVILLE | Barbara Davis Warren, beloved mother and grandmother, was born on July 6, 1936 in Mooresville, N.C. Her father and mother, Marvin Lee and Mary Winters Davis were dairy farmers in the Mt. Ulla community where they raised six loving children. Barbara died on March 4, 2016, following a courageous battle with cancer. A service of celebration for her life, ministry and resurrection will be held at Triplett United Methodist Church on Sunday, March 6, 2016. Barbara attended Mt. Ulla School and graduated from Pfeiffer College where she studied Education and Christian Education. Throughout her life, she combined these loves as a Methodist minster's wife who also taught public school for over thirty-five years. She loved books as a child, and she devoted her life to teaching reading and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also loved the outdoors and she spent many joyful hours in her garden on the farm where she was raised. Barbara married Rev. Millard Whitfield Warren, Jr. (Whit) in 1958, and they served many congregations in the North Carolina Conference. Whit preceded her in death in 2000. Barbara retired in 2002 and enjoyed serving her church and community and spending time with her dear family. She is survived by her siblings: Nancy Davis Kerr, Mary Lee Parker (Maurice), Charles Davis (Awanda, and Lynda Burns (Larry). Sister and brother-in-law Frankie and Henry Lovin preceded her in death. She leaves a loving family who will miss her dearly: children Whitney Warren and husband Deryl Davis; Millard W. Warren, III (Trey) and wife Lynn; and Kristie Brennan and husband Rich. She also leaves her special grandchildren: Connor, Sydney and Tanner Warren; Nathaniel, Eliza, and Caroline Davis; and Sloan and Millar Claire Brennan. She also leaves behind many loving and beloved nieces, nephews and other family members, including her church family. The visitation will be held at Triplett United Methodist Church Christian Family Life Center from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, (Mooresville, N.C.). A service will follow in the sanctuary at 4 p.m., followed by the graveside service.
