Barbara H. DufresneOctober 27, 2017Barbara Hayden Dufresne of North Ft. Myers, FL passed away on October 27, 2017 where she lived with her husband, Robert J., at their home under the care of Hope Hospice. Their marriage spanned 65 loving years. Barbara was 87 at the time of her death. She was born on July 1, 1930 in the town of Berlin, VT. She was the third child of Earl and Mildred Hayden surviving her brother Robert Hayden and sister Patricia Hayden King both of Northfield, VT. Barbara was the mother of three boys and a girl. Her daughter, Susan, passed away from a long illness in 2012. Her sons, Robert E, David A, and William R, are married with beautiful and growing families. Robert and David reside in Vermont and William lives in Florida. Her love of outdoor activities was passed on to her family through summer and winter vacations. She loved to golf, travel, and take camping trips to Cape Cod, Nova Scotia, and Harvey's Lake in northern Vermont. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, 3 sons, 6 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. No funeral service is planned at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Vermont. Her ashes will be placed in the Dufresne Lot, Berlin Cemetery, beside her daughter Susan, a place close to the church where Barbara played piano during Sunday services as a high school student.In lieu of flowers, friends and well-wishers may consider sending a donation honoring her memory to any of the following: Springfield Vt.
