Barbara F. Malensek, 80, of Burton Township, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017, at Chardon Healthcare Center. She was born on February 22, 1936, the daughter of Neil and Ellen (Sly) Ferry. Barbara married Lee "Willie" Malensek on August 16, 1958. She was a homemaker and enjoyed being with her family. Her hobbies included bingo, word puzzles, baking, canning, and going to Presque Isle Downs and Casino in Erie, Pa. Her family and friends will miss her dearly; her beloved husband Lee of 58 years; her children, Teddy Lee (Carol), Doug (Kim), Randell, Robert (Stacy) and Roberta (Mike) Garling; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; her sister Joyce (J.R.) Jones; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Bruce, Eugene, June Shorts, Jay, Richard, Karl, Kermit, Curtiss, Geraldine Dunkerton, and Berkley. Calling hours will be 10:00 a.m. until her Celebration of Life at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, February 1, at Russell-Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 West High St., Middlefield, OH 44062.
