Barbara J. ModlinDawsonBarbara passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Rowley Memorial Masonic Home in Perry. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Murdock Funeral Home in Perry. Burial will be in Violet Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 1 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. at Murdock Funeral Home.Barbara J. Modlin was born on November 10, 1928 in rural Waukee, IA to Roy and Elsie (Smith) Jamison. She married Jack Modlin on February 12, 1949 in West Des Moines, IA. Survivors include her son, Steve (Jane) Modlin of Dawson, IA; daughter, Joanne Modlin of Perry, IA; brother, R. Francis (Kay) Jamison of Waukee, IA; son-in-law, Terry White of Shady Shores, TX; grandchildren, Jennifer (Karl), Kristen, Adam, and Zach; great-grandchildren, Mychal and Landry; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Barbara in death were her parents, her husband, Jack, and her daughter, Janet White. Memorials will be directed to the in Barbara's name and may be left at Murdock Funeral Home.
