Barbara J. WallarabMelbourneMs. Barbara Jean Wallarab was called to heaven on August 6, 2017. Her selfless and gentle spirit permeated through everyone that touched her life. She was a loving mother, grandmother and a friend to many.Barbara was born on June 13, 1936 in Davenport, Iowa to Harry and Madelyn Wallarab. She professed her love and hope in Jesus Christ at an early age that took her on a life-long journey. She graduated from Tarkio Presbyterian College in 1958 with degrees in Education and Speech, and minors in psychology and religion. She went onto complete her Master's degree in Speech Communication Arts from the
University of Michigan in 1959. She then received a calling to teach and mission in Beirut, Lebanon from 1961 to 1964. After returning from Beirut, she served as a missionary and educator in Japan from 1965 to 1979. In addition to starting her family, she directed several plays and held small English bible studies to spread the word of Jesus. She moved back to the United States in 1979, where she spent the rest of her years loving and caring for her children, grandchildren, friends and church family. She continued her work teaching English as a second language to college students, and in working as a Director of Christian Education.She is survived by her two daughters, Wendy Moseley and Heidi Gereighty, her grandchildren Matthew, Rebecca and Jonathan Moseley, and Jeanne-Maria and Ellie Gereighty. She was preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter Emily Moseley, and son-in-law Thomas Moseley, whom she will be joining in heaven.A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 8 at 7 PM at the Kingdom Gate Worship Center in Satellite Beach.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heaven's Rays Fund through the Community Foundations for Brevard.Arrangements by Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, Melbourne, (321) 724-2222.
