Barbara Larie Stewart, 83, passed away peacefully at her home in Alamogordo on November 27, 2016. She was born on September 30, 1933, in San Bernardino, CA, to James A. and Treva L. (Benson) Campbell. Barbara married the love of her life, Lee Stewart, on February 21, 1950, in Texico, NM. They moved to Alamogordo, in 1954. They had four daughters, Carolyn, Lynda, Cynthia, and Merri. She was an extremely welcoming and hospitable lady and devout Christian, with a lifelong faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved sharing that faith with everyone she met. She loved her family with her whole heart and was a loyal friend. Barbara played the organ at St. Jude's Mission from the early 70's to mid 80's. She was a stay at home mother and homemaker. She volunteered her time to different organizations, and also worked at Walmart for several years. Barbara is survived by her husband of 66 years, Lee, of the family home in Alamogordo; daughters, Carolyn, and husband David of El Paso, TX, Lynda, and husband Bob, and Merri, and husband Bill, all of Alamogordo, NM; siblings, Boots Fuller of Canadian, TX, Marti Blesch of Hobbs, NM, Joe Campbell of Glen Heights, TX, and Jerry Campbell of Hobbs, NM; seven grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and daughter Cynthia.Barbara will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
