FAIRBORN — Barbara R. (Hawkins) Miller, age 73, of Greenfield, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation – Greenfield. She was born on April 17, 1942, in Roanoake, VA, as the daughter of Daniel Hawkins and Verdene (Pillow) Everidge. Barbara married Venice Miller on November 21, 1959, in Dayton, OH. Barbara attended Greenfield High School. After obtaining her G.E.D., she began her 19-year career at Regency as a dietary manager, progressing to a CNA and capping off her journey as a QMA. Transitioning from Regency, she provided in home health care to numerous Greenfield residents and was "Grandma" to (ICAP) Children. Her passion was her family. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, sewing, cooking and reading. She was a member of Red Hat Society and Past-President of the Resident Council. She was also a member of the Kennard Brotherhood Sisterhood Benefit Fund. Barbara is survived by her sons, Venice L. (Lynn) Miller, Jr. of Douglasville, GA, and Donnie W. (Karen) Miller of Greenfield; daughters, Angie D. (Danny) Smith of Greenfield, Amber G. (Dennis) Johnson of Dallas, TX, and Beverly A. (Russ) Cornetet of West Chester, OH; brother, Steven Hawkins of Virginia; 11 grandchildren, Kelli, Melissa, Michelle, Nathan, Jonathan, Jesse, Tara, Brandon, Chase, Cheyenne and Mason; and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Venice Miller; brothers, Donnie E. Achor, Gary W. Achor and Joseph E. Achor; and sister, Marlene Achor. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 2:00 p.m. Minister George Seats will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
