Barbara Nancy (Sanborn) Gulliverof Leominster; formerly of Fitchburg LEOMINSTER -- Barbara Nancy (Sanborn) Gulliver passed away peacefully at home with her loving family with her on November 6, 2016 after a brief illness. She was born on January 3, 1922 in Winchester, MA. She was the daughter of the late Oscar C. Sanborn and Monnie Mae (Ellis) Sanborn and lived in Fitchburg moving to Leominster in 1952 where she resided until her death.Barbara was a graduate of Fitchburg High School class of 1941. She worked for the Worcester County Trust Co. in Fitchburg and stopped working to raise her family. When her children were grown she worked as a key punch operator for the George S. Carrington Co. in Leominster for many years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed learning about her family history. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Rebekah Assembly and Methodist Woman's Group. She attended the Leominster United Methodist Church serving on many committees.She leaves behind three sons Edward, Jr. and wife Lois of Treadway, TN, Roger and wife Bonnie Jean of Palm Bay FL., James of Leominster and daughter Cynthia Jobin and husband David of Lunenburg. Grandchildren Scott Gulliver, Daniel Gulliver, Dennis Gulliver, Carrie Ann McLaughlin, John Gulliver, Kris Gulliver, Marjorie Crawford, Catherine Robichaud, Robert Jobin, Timothy Jobin and Jillian Vadiz. Daughters-in-law, Sandra Stone and Joyce Gulliver. 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and her sisters-in-law Florence Puchlerz of Lunenburg and Gert Gulliver of Melbourne, FL. She was predeceased by her husband Edward F., her sons John S. and Peter J. and grandson Jonathan E. Gulliver.Barbara enjoyed being with her many relatives and hosted many family reunions at her home. She was loved by all who knew her. She always remembered birthdates and anniversaries for her many nieces, nephews and their children always sending cards or calling them on their special day. Barbara had many lifelong friends and always kept in contact with them. She had a sewing group that met in her home for many years. She was very giving person and was always knitting, sewing or baking something for others.GULLIVER -- A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, November 10th in the Leominster United Methodist Church, 77 Hall Street, Leominster. Burial will be in North Cemetery, Lunenburg. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 9th from 4-7 pm in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Odd Fellows Home Activity Fund, 104 Randolph Road, Worcester, MA 01606 or the Leominster United Methodist Church, 77 Hall Street, Leominster, MA 01453. www.richardsonfuneralhome.net.
