Barbara A. Nienhaus1936 - 2014Barbara A. Nienhaus, 78, of Burlington, Wis., (Lily Lake) died Friday evening May 16, 2014, at Aurora St. Lukes Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wis. The former Barbara Ann Ashwell was born on March 11, 1936, in Bryn Mawr, Penn., (a suburb of Philadelphia), the daughter of the Ralph and Kathryn Proctor Ashwell. On June 5, 1954, in Ardmore, Penn., Barbara was united in marriage to Stanley J. Nienhaus, Sr. Since their marriage, Barbara has been a resident of Kenosha County.Barbara formerly worked for the Wheatland School District for 34 years starting as a janitor and retiring as head cook in the cafeteria in 2002. Barbara enjoyed crocheting, cooking and spending time with her family. She was also a member of the Card Club.Barbara is survived by her husband, Stanley, Sr.; three children, Stanley J. (Beverly) Nienhaus, Jr. of Lily Lake, Wis., Patricia A. (Joseph) McCole of Twin Lakes, Wis., and David W. (Allison) Nienhaus of Lily Lake, Wis.; four grandchildren, Timothy A. McCole, Melanie R. McCole, Rachel A. (Nick) Weiss and Andrew J. (Katie) Nienhaus; one great grandchild, Hastin Weiss; one sister, Jane (Lawrence) Krueger of Cassopolis, Mich.She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Ashwell and Kathryn Ashwell Clark; two brothers, Robert Burgess and Charles Burgess and one sister, Kathryn Boze.The Nienhaus Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc.
