Barbara J. Rauch, 71, of South Montrose, passed away at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Philadelphia, on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, surrounded by her family. Her husband of 20 years, Charles R. Rauch, survives.She was born on August 10, 1942, in Binghamton, N.Y., to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Washburn) Silver. Also surviving are her three daughters and sons-in-law, Christine and James Baker, Montrose, Terry and Carl Benscoter, Laceyville, Sue Hitchcock, Montrose; four sons and daughters-in-law, Vern Hitchcock, Dimock, Will and Amy Hitchcock, Montrose, Dean and Melissa Hitchcock, Montrose, Greg and Casey Hitchcock, Springville; two brothers and sister-in-law, Tony and Diane Silver, Hallstead, and Bill Silver, Ft Lauderdale, Fla.; two sisters, Virginia Gellatt, Tenn., Ruth Whinney, N.Y.; brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law, Ken and Carol Rauch, Montrose, Debbie and Bill Lawrence, Montrose; 13 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Joan Wheeler, and Jean Abrams.Barbara was a Master Gardner. She enjoyed knitting, playing Bingo, swimming, reading, traveling, cake decorating, crossword puzzles, and going to the casino. She used to race stock cars on the ice and Leisure Lake. Barbara loved to spend time with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.A Funeral Service was held Sunday, March 23, 2014, at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, with Pastor Phillip Richardson of Clarks Summit, officiating. Visitations were held Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will be in the Brookdale Cemetery.
