Barrie Africa Thompson, a beloved Mother, Daughter, Sister, Friend and member of the Harlem community, passed away on December 1, 2024, at the age of 30. Born on July 4, 1994, to Florence Ahnor and Barry Burroughs she was brought home to meet her sisters. Barrie touched the lives of many with her infectious smile and kind spirit. She will be remembered for her contagious laugh, goofy and fun nature, stubbornness and pride but most importantly the love for her family, friends and anyone who got to know her, as well as her unwavering dedication to helping others. Africa’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with such a remarkable individual.
Africa loved her son, family, home cooked meals, seafood, laughing, having a good time and comfortability. She is survived by her son; Camren Thompson, her mother; Florence Ahnor, her father; Barry Burroughs, her sister; Sandra Johnson, her sister; Piffany Jarvis, Brother in Law; James Johnson, Nephews;King, Master, James, Chance & Cairo, her nieces; Honest, Lyric & Ray’lynn, Aunts; Makeba Ahnor, Cousins; Derwin Jr, Nykeyba, Deonte, Apollo, Uncles; Derwin Huggins Sr.& Benjamin Ahnor
Africa will be remembered by all who loved her. She has left us too soon and will be truly missed by her son, her mom, sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and a wealth of friends.
