Barry L. Wallach passed away at age 74 on Saturday, July 20.  An avid basketball player since grade school, he spent his last moments playing the game he loved with all his basketball buddies in Tucson, Arizona. 

He was born on August 16, 1944 in Bridgeport, CT son of  Al & Sally Wallach.  Barry graduated from the University of New Haven in 1966.  He served in the USAF from 1966-70 and then worked as a computer analyst for most of his career.  Since 2002, he worked as an educator in Goshen, IN schools and then in Tucson area schools.  He was known to wake up at 4:00 a.m. to wait for his work assignment and was so excited to spend every available day teaching students. 

He married Kathleen Whelan on Feb. 24, 1969 and in 2019 they celebrated their 50^th Anniversary.  Over the recent July 4^th holiday, they gathered together with their five children-- Jennifer (Will) Luczak, Ted, Andrew (Ani), William (Casey), Mike (Rachel) and 11 grandchildren --Tim, Katie, Joe, Audrey, Isabel, Adam, Amelia, Maia, Abraham, Penny, and Oliver-- to celebrate 50 years of being together. Our family is comforted knowing that we were all able to spend this special time with Barry/ Dad/ Grandpa during this celebration just weeks before he passed.

If you knew Barry, you know he had a sweet-tooth and he was so sweet to everyone!   He could strike up a conversation with just about anyone from the store clerk to the stranger next to him on the plane.  He was full of wisdom, stories and jokes.  He loved sharing his Donald Duck impression with kids and adults. He never failed to provide his family and lived his life by the golden rule.  He will be so deeply missed.
