Baudy J. Martinez, 81, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 14, 2013.Baudy was born on July 4, 1931, to the late Alois and Refugia Martinez. Upon proudly serving his country in the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1971, Baudy owned and operated BJ's Cafe in Cleveland for over 37 years. Baudy was united in marriage in 1979 to Juanita Wallace and was a devoted member of La Morada de San Isidro, as Hermano Socio de Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareño.Baudy is survived by his beloved wife, Juanita of the home in Cleveland; four brothers, Lloyd Martinez (Ricardita), Ernest Martinez, George Martinez (Sharon), and Johnny Martinez (Phyllis); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.Funeral services for Baudy will be held at Saint Gertrude Catholic Church in Mora as follows: Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. today (Wednesday.) Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday by Father Sanchez. Baudy's service to his country will be honored by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard immediately after the funeral mass at St. Gertrude Church. No burial services will be held, as Baudy's request to be cremated following his funeral services will be honored by his family.Serving as pallbearers will be George Wallace, Ricky Ray Martinez, Dean Martinez, Tony Martinez, Julian Olivas, and Daniel Gallegos.
