HANOVER TWP. — Becky Johnson, 43, of Hanover Township, passed away Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, in Dunmore, after a long battle with multiple sclerosis.
Becky was born on Nov. 6, 1972, in Wilkes-Barre. She was the daughter of Diane (Yatko) Evans, of Sugar Notch, and the late David Johnson, of Ashley.
Becky attended Hanover Area High School. She was a strong willed person who was never afraid to speak her mind. She enjoyed listening to 80s music, loved her dogs, was a fan of NASCAR and riding motorcycles. In her younger years, she enjoyed roller skating. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends, and having a good time wherever she went. Nothing gave her more joy than her two children and all they have accomplished. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Becky was preceded in death by her father, David Johnson; grandparents, Walter and Anna Yatko; and an aunt, Rayna Spinucci.
Carrying on Becky's legacy are her mother, Diane (Yatko) Evans, and her husband, Pat; daughter, Christina Garcia; son, Jason Garcia; half-sisters, Deanna Johnson and fiance, Mike, Danielle Martinez and husband, Luis, Jessica Frischman; stepmother, Debbie Johnson; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 29, in St. Andrew Parish, Parrish Street, Wilkes-Barre. A memorial Mass will begin at noon. Interment will be private and held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Becky's memory may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Soup Kitchen, 39 E. Jackson St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.
