Belita Kay Porter, 75, wife of the late Roy Lee Porter Sr., of Belton, Missouri passed away Monday, August 28, 2023 at St. Mary’s hospital. Born November 9, 1947 in Lebanon, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Robert Sr., and Ruth Denny.
Due to her father’s military career, she attended many different schools, and frequently traveled. Belita enjoyed fostering several animals, and was compassionate toward all living things. She was fond of basking in the sun, and reading the Bible with her family. She was a devoted housewife, mother, and grandmother. Belita cherished flowers, and how the sun glistened off the trees. She always encouraged her loved ones to love one another and stand together. In her youth, she would roam the woods admiring all of God's creations.
She is survived by son Robert Porter and wife Debora Porter; son Leonard Porter; daughter Tammy and husband Robert Rehkop all of Higginsville Missouri; six grandchildren Maykayla Johnson, Kira Haynes, Tabitha Haynes, Raymond Betances, Nacole Benscoter , and Joshua Betances; 13 great grandchildren Anaedi Hernandez, Zander Betances, Hayden Pearson, Tristan Brown, Rayden Betances, Bastion Betances, Seth Benscoter, Sabrina Benscoter, Selene Benscoter, Salah Benscoter, Jackson Betances, Dakota Betances, Gabriel Betances; one great great grandchild Emilie Pearson.
She was also survived by siblings William Denny, Anita Bryant, Robert Denny Jr., Ruth Summers, and Raymond Denny; 16 nieces and nephews Chris Porter, JoJo Porter, Cathy Porter, Lacie Mossman , Darren Hoke, Danny Porter, Billy Denny, Laura Farber, Shannon Denny, Kyle Denny, Robbie Denny, Katie Denny, Tiffany Elliott , Mike Bryant, Len Porter, and Allen Porter. In addition to her late husband she is predeceased by her son Roy Lee Porter, nephew Christopher Denny, Allen Porter, niece Angela Denny, and sister in law Judy Denny.
