Belle C. JonesStaatsburg - Belle C. Jones, 98, a Staatsburg resident, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the Renaissance Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center in Staatsburg. Belle was born on May 27, 1918 in Norfolk, VA. She was the daughter of the late Dofis Wilson and Maggie Brinkley Wilson. Belle was the last surviving of 12 siblings.On December 12, 1941, in Newington, NH, she married Julius C. Jones, Jr. After 50 years of marriage, Mr. Jones predeceased her on May 16, 1992. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Ann Jones Pope, of Worcester, MA; son, Darryl S. Jones, of Hyde Park; son, Julius D. Jones, and his wife, Ruth Jones, of Staatsburg; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Belle retired in 1981 as a teacher's aide in the Boston Public Schools System. She was a loving wife and mother. Belle was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, crocheting, sewing, and being with her family. She sang in the choir at Saint Mary of the Angels Parish in Roxbury, MA.A period of visitation will be from 10-11am (an hour prior to the service) on Saturday, March 25th at the United Methodist Church of Hyde Park on Rte. 9. The funeral service will follow at 11am. Rev. Kregg Gabor will officiate.
