Belva J. WhiteAVONDALE: Belva J. White, 79, of Avondale, died early Saturday March 28, 2015 at Genesis-Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born on December 24, 1935 in Buffalo, Ohio a daughter of the late Gus and Dorothy Taylor. She graduated from Adamsville High School. She had been employed at the John McIntire Library. She was an original member of the Newton Township Volunteer Fire Department and was the first female EMT at the department. She is survived by her husband John White; five children Mitch (Jodie) White, John (Carla) White, Jane (Tim) Lutz, Steve (Diana) White, and Janice (Lamar) Dowling; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Jerry (Sue) Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mona Taylor; and a brother Jackie Taylor.Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday March 30, 2015 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive in White Cottage where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday March 31, 2015 with Rev. Paul Ashbrook officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery.
