With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Benjamin (Azim) Legette Jr., a cherished member of Charlotte. Ben, 49, passed away on October 16, 2024. He was known for his kindness, generosity, and warm smile that could light up any room. Ben was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His passion for life and dedication to his work will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Ben was proceeded in death by his sister Cherry Ann Reaves.

Benjamin Franklin Legette Jr. (Azim) was born March 6th, 1975, in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Benjamin Legette Sr. and Alice Carol Williams. The family settled in Charlotte, NC. Ben graduated from Harding High School in 1993.

Ben (Azim) is survived by his parents Benjamin Franklin Legette Sr. and Alice Carol Williams; four children Montrale Martin, Shekinah Davis, Nadiya Hooper and Braxton Woods; one granddaughter Alora Hooper; one sister Aratareka Glenn; one nephew Jacory Reaves; two nieces London and Paris Reaves, all of Charlotte, NC.

Ben (Azim) also leaves six uncles, three aunts, and a host of cousins and friends
