Bernard Charleston, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on February 29, 2024, at the age of 98 in Manassas, Virginia. He was born on August 28, 1925, to Albert and Florence Charleston.

Bernard was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gladys McClanahan, in 2011. The couple tied the knot in 1945 and had two children, Walker and Jennifer. Bernard also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren.

Bernard had a long and fulfilling career as a construction worker, and he retired in 1992 after many years of dedicated service. In his younger years, he proudly served in the Army during the last two years of World War II, reaching the rank of Sergeant.

Outside of work, Bernard had a passion for jazz music and drag racing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, always ready with a joke or a kind word. He will be remembered for his warm smile, generous spirit, and love of life.

On February 29, 2024, Bernard Charleston peacefully passed away due to old age. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a strong work ethic that will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
