It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bernard Finley Graves Jr., of Buffalo, New York. He was born on September 26, 1959, to his parents Bernard and Joanne Graves (predeceased). Bernard passed away on June 3, 2024.
In 1991, Bernard married his beloved wife Lisa Graves, and together they raised their son Bernard Justin Graves lll (predeceased).
Bernard was a loving father and dedicated to assuring Justin experienced all life had to offer in his short life. He was firm believer in vacations and would not hesitate to gather all of the kids and take a trip to Florida, South Carolina or vist family in Pennsylvania. He also loved cruising to the Caribbean with his wife. His favorite island was Nassau.
Bernard graduated from Kensington High School in 1977 and went on to work for General Motors. He eventually left GM and completed his full circle of employment working at his first job as a youth the Buffalo Psychiatric Center, where he eventually retired in 2018.
In his free time, he enjoyed playing basketball with friends. To say he was competitive on the court is an understatement. He used this time to socialize with friends.
Bernard was devoted to his brother Shaun (Jaenae), sister Terri Jo, niece's DaShauna, Zahane and Morgan; nephew Raeshaun; great nephews Demire, Tajh, Bryson and great niece Railynn; and godchildren Narvelle, Cherish and Messiah.
Bernard will be deeply missed by his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
