FREMONT — Bernard W. "Bernie" Ross, age 87, of Fremont, Indiana, passed away, Monday April 20, 2015, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on June 18, 1927 in Kinderhook Township, Michigan, the son of Jesse W. and Ruth M. (Caswell) Ross. He attended school in Swanton, Ohio. He retired after almost 40 years as a partner with Ross Brothers Appliances in Fremont, Indiana. He enjoyed motorcycles, old cars, radio controlled airplanes, and traveling. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. He married Karel K. (Somers) on June 4, 1993 in Fremont, Indiana. Survivors include his wife, Karel K. Ross of Fremont, Indiana; three daughters, Cynthia (Eric) Coleman of Delmar, Delaware, Jacqueline Sue (Mike) Firestone of Onancock, Virginia, and Becky Jo (Daryl) Hoffman of Dunnellon, Florida; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leonard Ross of Sioux City, Iowa, and John Doyle (Connie) Ross of Fremont, Indiana; and two sisters, Sylvia Finton of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Yvonne Marie Gilbert of Decatur, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Joan Ross, and his parents. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana, with Elder Daryl Hoffman officiating. Calling hours will be from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at Beams Funeral Home, prior to the services. Burial will be held at a later date at Jamestown Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana.
