Allen, BerniceBernice (Gandt) Allen, age 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. Bernice was born on March 23, 1934 to the late Otto and Hedwig (Hoppe) Gandt. She graduated from Appleton High School. She married John Allen in November of 1961 and together they had two children. Bernice became a stay at home mother, caring for her husband and their two children. She spent a lot of her free time sewing their clothing, knitting, crocheting, and watching old classic movies. She also enjoyed her time spent with the ladies at bridge club and knitting club as well as time with her friends at Bible studies. Bernice played a mean game of cribbage, spreading innocent trash talk with her family and friends. Especially in her younger years, she loved to travel. Her most extraordinary trip was when she took a boat to Europe on a six week excursion, touring and visiting her brother who was stationed there. Above all else, Bernice's pride and joy was spending time with her family.Bernice will be greatly missed by her children: Kay Allen (Dave Patrikus) and Barbara Bednarowski (special friend Dan Umnus); grandchildren: Joshua, Nicholas (fiancé Alysa Gurin), and Caitlin Bednarowski; a brother, Jerry (Mary) Gandt; a sister-in-law, Roberta (Richard) Beach; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
