Bernice Gladys Lee was born on April 14, 1925 to Betty Shorter and Stokes Johnson in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Bernice was one of four children, two of whom proceeded her in her death, leaving one brother, Fred Jackson.  

Bernice attended the Chattanooga School District and later be located to Cleveland, Ohio. Bernice met and married John W. Lee (deceased) and from this union of 55 years, three lovely children were born.

Bernice joined Greater Abyssinia Baptist Church and was a life long member. She was a dedicated homemaker, raising and nurturing her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, a mother to many. 

Bernice continued caring for all until her final days. Enjoying life she loved her family, shopping, and listening to music. She truly enjoyed traveling and reuniting with family at family reunion gatherings. 

 

Bernice Gladys Lee was called from labor to reward on Sept. 28, 2015. Her memory is cherished by her children, Terry (Robert), John Jr. (Juanita, deceased) and Vickey (Willie); grandchildren, Tracey, TyRhonda, Stacey, Kelly, and Aaron; also a host of great grandchildren, relatives, and friends.
