Bernie Gertrude Augusta , 75, passed on January 24, 2023. She was born to Samuel and Bernice Johnson - Whitlock on November 12, 1947.

She married Benjamin Augusta in 1978 and they lived together in Warrenton, Virginia. Together they raised 3 children Johnny Augusta (Kimberlee ), Sandra Frankston (Bradford ), Diana Hanson (David ). She is also survived by 5 grandchildren. And 10 other siblings.

Above all else she enjoyed her grandkids the most. She called them angles from god.

She was a study homemaker and always kept the house straight. She was a honorary country woman and always longed to be on her family farm.

The family will hold a visitation on Monday January 30, 2023 from 4pm - 8pm at Preston and Sons Funeral Home of Manassas. A Funeral service will be held the following day at 2pm. Interment will follow to Warrenton Cemetery.

Preston and Sons Funeral Home of Manassas is serving the family. Arrangements are being held through Funeral Director Jennifer Preston.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the national cancer institute.  

The family would also like to thank everyone for kind wishes and prayers during this difficult time.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the future on April 8, 2023 from 6pm - 8pm, at the funeral home. This will mark four months since Bernie's passing and it will give everyone a chance to come together and celebrate Easter, her favorite holiday.
