Bess RubnerABILENE, TXBess Rubner, 88, of Abilene passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017. A Graveside service will be 2:00PM, Wednesday, August 23, 2017 in Elmwood Memorial Park. Bess was born on March 28, 1929 in Enterprise, Alabama. She married the love of her life, Chester Henry Rubner Jr. on November 26, 1953 in Greenville, Mississippi. Bess spent her time volunteering at the West Texas Rehab which was one of her favorite things. She is also a former member of the Abilene Bowling League and loved to bowl. She enjoyed camping and the great outdoors. She loved her kids and grandkids deeply and was a very dedicated wife and mother that always had a listening ear. Bess is preceded in death by her husband, Chester Henry Rubner, Jr. She is survived by her children, John A Rubner of Haskell County, Janet Smith of Haskell, Michael W. Rubner and his wife, Linda of Abilene, Pamela Denson and her husband, Jerry of Abilene, and Mark T. Rubner of Abilene; and numerous grand-children and great-grandchildren. The family would like to send a special thanks to Bess's two caregivers, Glenda Mack and Esther Denson. We will never be able to thank you enough for the love and care you showed our mother and we will forever be grateful for you.
