Bessie BeamanBessie Lee Beaman, 95, of Ash Grove, MO passed away on Saturday, September, 23, 2017 at her home with family by her side. She was born on Thursday, August 31, 1922 in Shattuck, OK to Lee C. Nichols and Areta M. (Learnard) Nichols.At age two the family moved to Ottawa, KS where she grew up and graduated from High School in 1940. Bessie attended Ottawa University where she met Warren Beaman. They married in June 1941 and to this union four children were born. Together they shared 67 years until his passing in 2008. In 1958 they moved to Springfield, MO and Bessie went to work for Empire Bank. She retired from there in 1984, but retirement wasn't for her. Bessie went to work for the Empire Fair in 1986 because they needed someone to work their 1936 switchboard during the Fair. She remained with the Fair until 1998. In addition to her career, Bessie was an accomplished seamstress. Sewing for herself, her kids and Grandkids including several prom and wedding dresses. Bessie was a charter member of the Brentwood Christain Church and transferred her membership to the First Christian Church of Ash Grove where she moved after Warren's death.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son-in-law John Lafferty.Bessie is survived by her four children, Marlena Lafferty of Rogersville, MO, Shar Lay, Ginnie Beaman and Lee Beaman (wife Vanessa) of Republic, MO, 11 grandchildren, Russ Lafferty (wife Jana), Mary Ann Gold, Teri Jernigan (husband Mark), Gina
Smith (husband Steve), Ron Eddington (wife Lacey), Julie Plummer (husband John), Randy Eddington (wife Monica), Malanie Loonsfoot (husband Leroy Weston), Misty Massey (husband Larry), Jeremiah Beaman and Matthew Beaman (wife Amanda), 27 great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, two sisters, Lela Mae Santarpia and Elizabeth "Rosie" Page and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and care givers at Ash Grove Healthcare Facilty.A visitation will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 10-11am at the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home, 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave., Springfield, MO 65804, with memorial services to follow.
