Mary "Beth" McGuire, 56, of New Market passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 16th, surrounded by her loving family.Beth is survived by her husband of 33 years, Ed; their twins Karie and Danny and her two siblings Laura and Bobby Carson. She leaves behind nieces Alison, Melanie, Amanda, and her nephew Matthew.Mrs. McGuire was born on February 10, 1961 in Baltimore MD, the daughter of Richard and Marcia Carson and grew up in Catonsville. She went to college at Radford University as a nursing student. After college, Beth began working at Johns Hopkins as a surgical intensive care nurse. Soon after, she became a Nutrition Support nurse and discharge planner and finished her career as a Case Manager. Johns Hopkins was her only job after college and she loved working there, having made so many great friends in her many years at the hospital. She always had a smile on her face and would do anything to help people - it was her passion. Beth was a devout Christian and her faith was the most important thing in her life. She shared that faith as a Sunday school teacher almost all of her adult life and always tried to make a difference and show kids the right way. Mrs. McGuire was a big fan of the Orioles and Ravens - she had the stickers and magnets on her car to prove it. She was a gifted piano player and singer - something she did that gave her peace when needed. Beth loved to go camping and share time in the country with family and friends. Her Halloween costumes were legendary - and always fun.The family would like to thank all of the caregivers who worked with Beth through this tough time. The doctors and nurses at Johns Hopkins and the special persons who were at home with them during this time helped so much to make this as good as it can be (thanks Tina and Brandy). A thanks also to Carroll Hospice for the way they made her last days comfortable. To honor her, there will be a viewing on Sunday, June 25 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM and 7:00 and 9:00 PM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Boulevard, Mount Airy.
