Bethany Ekinia, a beloved member of the Lafitte community, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on January 8, 1949, Bethany lived a life filled with love, laughter, and compassion in the heart of the bayou. She was known for her unwavering Faith, her infectious sense of humor, her love for her family, and her love for fishing. Bethany touched the lives of many with her generosity and selflessness, as she served in the church of St. John’s for over 20 years. She will be remembered for her warm spirit and the countless lives she impacted through her acts of kindness. Bethany's legacy of love and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.
Bethany Ekinia is survived by: her husband George Ekinia, her son Gregg (Mandi) Ekinia, her daughter Sharell (Walter) Collins, her sister Carol Burke, and 3 grandchildren, Alexandria Collins, Connor Collins, and Brenton Ekinia.
Cremation Date: 11/20/24
Bethany’s remains will be scattered in Lafitte on 11/30/24 at a private family gathering.
