GENEVA — Betty M. Anderson, 91, of Geneva, formerly of Angola, Indiana, passed away at 6:35 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Swiss Village in Berne, Indiana. She was born on Wednesday, September 10, 1924, in Jay County, Indiana. She married her first husband, Wendell Butcher, on April 18, 1944. She married her second husband, Samuel Anderson, on August 19, 1950. Betty was a member of the High St. United Methodist Church. She was a member of the
VFW of Geneva, the Moose, and the American Legion of Portland. She was owner/operator of Andy's Tavern for 20 years in Geneva. Loving survivors include a son, Michael (wife, Betty Lou) Anderson of Reflon, Pennsylvania; daughter-in-law, Bette (Butcher) Thomson of Hudson, Indiana; grandchildren, Keith Butcher, Jacob Anderson and Katie Anderson; and great-grandchildren, Aubree Butcher and Chase Butcher. She was preceded in death by her first husband,Wendell Butcher; her second husband, Samuel Anderson; her mother, Eunice (Corle) Uhrick; her father, Clarence Uhrick; a son, Sam Butcher; a sister, Patricia Frank; and brothers, Herman Uhrick, Cree Uhrick, Jay Uhrick and Kirby Uhrick. Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington Street, Geneva on Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. A service to celebrate Betty's life will be at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2016 with the Pastor Michele Isch and Kris McPherson officiating.
