Betty Anne (Young) Dagg May 9, 1929 - Oct 1, 2017 Betty Anne (B.A.) passed away on Oct. 1, 2017 at Point Grey Private Hospital in Vancouver with family nearby. She is survived by her brothers Gerald (wife Joanne) of Calgary and George (Donna) of Balmoral, B.C., sons Bruce (Rhonda) of Victoria, Jim of Golden, and Bill (Jess) of Vancouver, five grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews and their children. She was predeceased by her parents, her ex-husband Walter Dagg, and her brother Douglas (Joan). Betty was born on May 9, 1929 in High River, Alberta, the eldest child of Clayton and Sybil Young. She attended elementary and high school in High River, then attended UBC before transferring to U of A and graduating with a B.A. While living in Calgary in the early 1950's she met Walter. They married in 1953 before moving to Vancouver to raise their family. They separated in the early 1980's and later divorced.B.A. worked as a part-time book-keeper and later in the travel industry. Upon retirement, she got involved in square dancing, was on the social committee at the senior 's home where she resided, learned Spanish, and was busier than ever! She loved to travel, and went on many trips and cruises with friends. She will be sadly missed for her sense of humour, caring spirit, and love of life, as well as being a wonderful mother & grandmother.A celebration of Betty's life will be held on Sat., Oct. 14 in Vancouver at the Kitsilano Neighbourhood House (2305 W 7th Ave), from 12:00 - 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to the New Chelsea Society.
