Mrs. Betty Jean Bryan, age 82, of LaGrange, passed away on November 2, 2016, at West Georgia Hospice after several years of declining health, including Alzheimer's disease. Mrs. Bryan was born on November 24, 1933, in Carroll County, Georgia, to the late Jack and Doris Mitchell.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in death by her husband of 59 years, Hollis Bryan, who passed away on November 2, 2010.
Survivors include her son, Mike Bryan, of Pine Mountain; daughter Kay Lewis, and her husband, Scott, of LaGrange; granddaughters, Nikki Bridwell and her husband, Dean, Jessica Costley, and Lindsey McClendon and her husband, Jim, all of LaGrange; Casey Middleton and her husband, Bryan, of Cedartown; and Jennifer Lewis of Colorado Springs, Colorado; great-grandchildren, Egan Turner, Cade Middleton, Ian Whisman, Aidan Turner and Lilah McClendon; sister, Glenda Beggs, and her husband, Buddy, of Power Springs; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Mrs. Bryan was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was a seamstress by trade. She was employed for many years at the Kex Plant of Callaway Mills, Playtex and Signal Knitting Mills. She was a long time member of Sunnyside Baptist Church.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Elizabeth Williams, the owner of Opal's Personal Care Home, and her wonderful staff, especially Rachael Bagley and Tameka Newton, but many others as well, for the loving care they provided to Mrs. Bryan, who they all affectionately called B.B., over the past several years. The family would also like to thank the wonderful employees of West Georgia Hospice and Affinis Hospice for the care they provided to her during her illness.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel. Interment will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Saturday beginning at noon until service hour.
