FREMONT — Betty L. Cope, age 86, of Fremont, Indiana, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Covington Manor of Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on Jan. 8, 1930, in Pleasant Lake, Indiana to Tom and Carrie (Dawes) Lytle. They preceded her in death. She married Eugene L. Cope on Sept. 22, 1947, in Angola, Indiana, and he preceded her in death on March 3, 2000. She attended Nevada Mills, Orland, and Jamestown schools. She attended Jamestown Church and Fremont Community Church. She loved all her family, her children, and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing euchre, and doing crossword puzzles. Survivors include her sons, Lewis Cope of Angola, Indiana, and David (Renee) Cope of Angola, Indiana; a daughter-in-law, Donna Cope of Hamilton, Indiana; 13 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Norma Rathbun of Fremont, Indiana, Waunita Wells of Angola, Indiana, and Beatrice McLean of Columbus, Ohio. She was also preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Max Ringler; a son, Benjamin Cope; a sister, Arlene Lytle; and brothers, Russell and Wilber Lytle. Calling hours will be held from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2016, at Beams Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jon Bruney officiating. Burial will follow at Jamestown Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana.
