Betty M. DodsonZANESVILLE: Betty M. Dodson, 88, of Zanesville, died at 5:45 p.m. Sunday September 4, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born on June 20, 1928, the daughter of the late Charles and Carrie (Eby) Moyer. She graduated from Lash High School in 1947 and married the love of her life David F. Dodson on May 31, 1947. She was a lifetime member of Meadow Farm Methodist Church where she loved cooking and baking for their social events. She was also a member of Springfield, Timber Run, and Pomona Grange. Betty was a devoted housewife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will sadly be missed by all.Betty is survived by her husband of 69 years David; son Dr. Carl (Dee Dee) Dodson; daughters Lois (John) Wood, Sr. and Helen K. Snider. Grandchildren Eric (Kirstin) Dodson, Renae (Randy) Church, John (Jennifer) Wood, Jr., Leisa Rush (Shane Bowden), Jason (Faith) Snider and Shawna (Matt) Kelley. Great-grandchildren Blake and Olivia Dodson, Hunter Church, Tiffani Kuhn, Caleb Rush, Elizabeth, Lauren, Allison and Jaxson Wood, Eli and Lane Snider, and Kambria Kelley. Betty is also survived by a sister-in-law and niece Dorothy Dodson; nephew Dave Searls and a very special nephew Bob Dodson (Molly Tharp). Many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by brothers Carl, Glenn, Stanley, and Ray; sisters Mary, Martha, Marie, and Mildred.A special thanks to Dr. Raul Hernandez for all his care and concern, and to Genesis Hospice and Home Instead.Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wed.
