Betty E. BartBetty Ellen (Lynch) Bart, 95, died on September 1, 2016, at 3:45pm at St. Anthony Health Care in Lafayette, IN. She was born on November 28, 1920, in Knightsville, IN, to the late Theodore and Nellie (Markle) Lynch. She graduated from Jasonville High School in 1939. She lived in Colorado and California, and Crawfordsville, IN, before settling in Lafayette.She married John S. Bart on December 6, 1941, at the home of John and Marie Slopsema in West Lafayette, IN, and he preceded her in death on July 30, 2009. Betty was a longtime member of the Lafayette Christian Reformed Church, where over the years she was active in Ladies Aid and the women's sewing group. She was a member of Fairfield Township Home Demonstration Club, serving as President. She also worked at Home Hospital as an EKG Technician for 5 years, Smith-Alsop paint store for 7 years, and The Ding-a-Ling craft store for 15 years. She cherished the time she was able to spend with her family, especially all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She helped her husband on the farm and also enjoyed gathering and visiting with family and friends, art, flowers, gardening, cooking, and baking.Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nadine Bever and a brother, Robert Lynch. Surviving are her two sons, John R. (Cindy) Bart and David W. (Maureen) Bart; four grandchildren, Richard D. (Carolyn) Bart, of Lafayette; Christina L. (Tim) Kirk, of Concord, NC; Randall L. (Jean) Bart, of Canton, MI; and Lisa (Jason) Wheeler, of Lafayette. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be at Hippensteel Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 6 from 5-8pm, and on Wednesday, September 7 at the Lafayette Christian Reformed Church One hour prior to the funeral service at 10 am.
