Betty Engelbretson, 87, of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, passed Friday, February 23, 2018. Betty was born to William Banik, and Eleanor Nowacki, January 02, 1931 in Madison, Wisconsin.
Betty graduated from West Side High School in 1949. She married Bruce Englebretson in 1951, and they lived together in Sun Prairie. Her pride and joy were her three daughters as she spent the majority of her time raising them and tending to the small farm and garden her and Bruce owned. Betty is survived by 3 children: Susan (Ralph) Fischer, Evelyn (Charles) Hanke, and Constance (Thomas) Heersma. She also leaves to honor her memory 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and her brother, James Banik of St. Paul, Minnesota.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bruce Englebretson in 2001; and two brothers, Michael Banik in 1987 and Timothy Banik in 2011.
