Betty L. HendersonMANSFIELD: Betty L. Henderson "Red" passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 after an extended illness. She was born on June 4, 1937 in Washington Courthouse, Ohio to Emil and Opal (Dove) Cornell. Betty later moved to Mansfield, Ohio where she met the love of her life, James W. Henderson, who was her companion for 49 wonderful years after they wed in 1960. After raising her four babies, Betty worked at J&J Super Value in Lucas. She was loved at the store and made years of memories there. Betty enjoyed camping, sitting on her porch during the warm summer days, playing bingo, and taking trips to the casino where she could stay awake spinning the slot machines longer than anyone else. But above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Red will be missed dearly. She was a little woman with a big heart and a lot of spunk. Her legacy will always be remembered , and she will be dearly missed by her family.Betty is survived by four children, Debra (Robert Sr.) Kegley, Daryl (Brandy) Henderson, Carolyn (Larry) Evans, and Lisa (Rodney) Mobley; grandchildren, Crystal (Donald) Franks, Jimmy (Nicole) Spurlock, Jeremy (Katelyn) Spurlock, Alyssa Henderson, Kali (Cody) Hughes, Kelsi (Billy) Ratliff, Makayla Mobley (Devin Boucher), Dalton Henderson, Macy Mobley and Gracie Henderson; great grandchildren, Jayce Franks, Jordon, Grady, Garrett and Aubrey Spurlock, and Kynlee Boucher; sister, Pauline Frazee; brother, James "Jim Jim" Cornell; brothers-in-law, Glenn (Kathy) Henderson and Bill (Karlyn) Henderson; sisters-in-law, Pearl (Ernie) Bays and Andrea Rodriguez; good friend, Lorene Ciesla; a niece that she had a special bond with and would spend hours on the phone with nightly, Barbie Lambert; and many other dear nieces, nephews, and good friends.In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jim; son-in-law, Jr. Spurlock; brothers, Gene and Herb Cornell; sisters-in-law, Brenda Cornell and Lois "Doey" Messer; brothers-in-law, Harold Frazee, Tommy Henderson, and Gene Messer; and an infant great-grandson, Jaylen Franks.A special thank you to Dr. Pawar and the caregivers at the Kidney Associates Inc. for the loving care Betty received there.The family will welcome friends from 5:00-8:00pm on Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St. A funeral service officiated by Pastor Phil Green will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Mansfield Cemetery.
