Betty Jaskela RACINE — Betty J. Jaskela, 89, passed away on March 27, 2014 in Racine, WI. She was born on June 2, 1924 in Parma, Ohio to William and Barbara Durr. Betty was a very active member in the church. Served in the US Navy during WWII and met George (USMC) at Great Lakes Naval Base and were married in 1946 in Waukegan. She loved to golf and bowl and later in life traveled to Europe. Betty worked at Abbott Lab from 1946 to 1952 and retired from Victory Memorial Hospital She is survived by her 2 sons; David and Bruce (Lynn) Jaskela; 2 grandsons, Eric and Ian; and 1 great grandson Ayden; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her husband George in 1995. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 5 to 8pm and 9 to 10am on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Marsh Funeral Home with a funeral following at 10am.
