Betty J. MurphyCENTERVILLE, Ind. - Betty J. Murphy, 79, of Centerville, passed away Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, at Ambassador Health Care in Centerville, Ind. The daughter of the late Edward G. and Mary M. (Frantom) White, Betty was born on Feb. 28, 1932, in Sylvania, Ohio. Betty has lived in the Western Wayne community since 1964. She had worked as a home healthcare provider for Reid Hospital and as manager for Bonded Gas Station in Richmond. Betty was a member of the Order of Eastern Star 196 of Hagerstown and attended the Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church in Dublin.Survivors include son, Stephen D. (Phyllis) Murphy of Economy; daughter, Mary J. ( Scott) Franklin of Greenfield; companion of 28 years, Herschel Harvey; brother, Albert White of Toledo, Ohio; and sister, Evelyn Sabo of Atlanta, Texas.Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 19 years, Fredrick R. Murphy; daughter, Marilyn VanBuskirk; grandsons, Stephen D. Murphy Jr. and Brian Murphy; brother, Richard W. White; sister, Julia White.Visitation will be from noon until the time of services at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin.
