Betty J. Sweitzer 1923—2016Betty Jane Sweitzer, 92 yrs.old, of Lanark passed away on Sat., Apr. 23, 2016 at Good Samaritan Society. She was born on July 31, 1923 the daughter of George and Etta (Albright) Earlenbaugh and was a Graduate of Pearl City High School. She married Leonard Sweitzer. She and her husband farmed near Lanark. Betty was a member of the Church of The Brethren. Survivors include 2 sons, Dan Sweitzer of Lanark and Kim"Cog" (Deb) Sweitzer of Mt. Carroll, 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband in 1987, her son, Larry and her daughter, Faye Shellhause. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Apr. 28, 2016 at The Cherry Grove Church of The Brethren with Pastor Rodney Caldwell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church after 9:30 am on Thursday at the church until the time of service. A memorial has been established in her memory.
