Betty Jean Burr, 61, of Petaluma CA passed away peacefully on July 15, 2015 surrounded by loving family. Betty was born to Roy and Ruth Stuckey in San Rafael CA on Dec 4 1953. She moved to Wichita KS in her younger years where she attended high school. As a young woman she moved to CA to start a family of her own. Betty married Richard Burr in Reno NV on July 22 1978. She had 4 loving children; 3 boys: Chris, John and Jeff and 1 daughter Jenny. Betty’s family mean everything to her and became her whole world. This included many camping trips, birthday parties with cakes baked from scratch, attending all sporting events. She never missed a game, a talent show or a play. When Betty’s children weren’t occupying her time she crafted, anything and everything. Scrap-booking, making dolls, baking and quilting were among some of Betty’s favorite activities. She would always find a way to “make nothing into something”. Betty was always on the lookout for the next big project. Holidays were over the top with crafts, decorations and food. Christmas was Betty’s favorite time of the year. The house inside and out was full of Christmas decoration and cheer. Betty loved to play Bunco with her friends and started her own group, decorating every part of it. She was an animal lover who had a hard time not bringing home animals she saw that needed a home. Betty’s smile and laughter would always warm up a room. Betty is survived by her loving husband, Richard Burr, her mother Ruth Stuckey of Ft Worth TX, son Chris Burr of Petaluma CA, son john Bauer of Petaluma CA, daughter Jenny Burr of Windsor CA, and son Jeff Burr of Petaluma CA. She is preceded in death by her father, Roy Stuckey of Wichita KS. She is also survived by sisters Diana Blood of Ft Worth TX and Nancy Montoya of Hanesville KS, grandchildren Kayla Burr, Jacob Burr and Justin Bauer. Many other family members also survive and will miss her greatly.
