Betty Jean Johnson was born on the 6th day of March to Robert James and Cynthia White in the city of Cleveland, Ohio.  Growing up with two brothers (William and James deceased).  She attended Martin Luther King High School where she did not finish her high school diploma.  As a late teenager, she met and married Horace Johnson and had six children, (Kevin, Delbert, Karnell Sr., Freida, Bobby, and Gary).  Betty spent her years as house wife raising her children.  Raising her children as a single mother divorced. She spent her spare time cooking and singing at karaoke nights, where she developed her love for music. She has 36 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.  In her last months, Betty spent fighting an illness with all her family by her side. She fault diabetes for three long years.  She was a loving mother, wife, and grandmother.
